I'm so glad we found this little place! Service was a little slow, but it was pretty busy. The food was exceptional! It's decorated well, lots of things to look at while you wait. I highly recommend giving it a shot.

Sometimes you just happen upon a little place that is a diamond in the rough. The Abita Springs Cafe is just such a place. Don't visit if you're expecting fancy, but do stop by if you're looking for original takes on good Louisiana cuisine, with an extra helping of small town charm and friendly service. My wife and I recently visited on a Monday evening and we were pleased with the experience. The Abita Cafe features a rather extensive menu of Louisiana favorites, plus burgers, salads, Po' Boys, and breakfast served all day. They also have a rather large selection of beers and specialty cocktails, and an adjoining beer garden is available for outside dining. This time I had the Boogaloo Bowl, which is an intriguing mixture of catfish, crawfish, fried eggs, fresh chives, etc. served in a white sauce atop a bed of grits, alongside a large homemade corncake. Sounds a little weird I know, but very good! My wife had a traditional omelette, with grits, etc, which was also quite good. They served an excellent coffee. Lots of other good stuff on the menu, so we will look forward to returning.

Comfort food Heaven! Every time I come here I walk away happy, full, and ready for the biggest nap of my life. I got the shrimp and crawfish etouffee in a bread bowl and it was so flavorful and delicious. I also love that they serve their breakfast and brunch all day. The food came out very fast and the staff was so friendly and efficient. I adore the cafe's cozy home-like atmosphere and their strong energy of southern hospitality. Can't wait to come back when I am in town again!

Had a quiet brunch here on a weekday. There is a nice patio if you want to eat outdoors, but the weather was too hot so I ate inside. The inside is small and the tables were kind of tight together. The restaurant wasn't busy so it wasn't a problem, but it could be an issue at a busy time. The customers seemed to be a good mix of locals (who were obviously familiar with the menu and the staff) and the visitors (like me). Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. The staff were friendly and efficient without being overly gregarious. My food came out fast and my coffee cup never got empty. The omelette I had was very nicely done. Very high-quality ingredients and light and fluffy as an omelette should be. Highly recommended. There are several menu items I would like to try so I will definitely go back.
